Kate was a teenage rebel and a dedicated rock n’ roller,
totally awed by the major rock acts she saw in-concert:
Clapton, Santana, The Who, The Stones, Bonnie Raitt,
Emmy Lou Harris, Jackson Browne… the list goes on.
Kate was drawn to the art scene early on. She attended
Mass Art, and the New England School of Photography.
Her photography is inquisitive by nature (see Kates’
artwork), and so it’s no shock that she took the next step
to study psychology at UMASS/Boston. Kate quickly
became the star of the psych department, was woo’d to
the analytic, and awarded a doctoral fellowship at Boston
College. Kate’s rock n’ roll calling was derailed by her
study of early childhood psychology, which serves her
well in dealing with ‘the boys” in the band Connected.
Kate’s rock and roll passion took a backseat to her
adopted public persona of Professor Sullivan: author,
researcher, and educator.
Kate pursued the family life, and with husband Chad
raised two fine children. The family joined the First
Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Kingston, MA,
where It became apparent that it was a haven for other
rebels and artists of all persuasions. It was through their
involvement with the church that Kate became
“Connected”. Around a campfire, where folks were
having a good time, Kate let her voice fly. Pete Eldridge,
founder of the band, and member of First Parish, was
astounded by Kate’s fully formed and beautiful voice.
Kate’s musical trajectory would be forever changed,
when Pete exclaimed “You never told us you could
sing!”
Come see Kate and the boys in the band, and you too
can witness the fun. It’s so much more than good music.
